Manuscript in the hands of Jean-Jacques Rousseau and his employer, Madame Dupin, on the history of women's education. 16 leaves are in Rousseau's hand and 4 in Dupin's, with evidence of much editing. Between 1745 and 1749 Rousseau was employed by Dupin as a research assistant on her ambitious project to document the history of women. After years of work on the project, entitled Ouvrage sur les Femmes, it was shelved and left unfinished.

[20] leaves ; 26 cm., enclosed in modern case measuring 34 cm.
